Texas requires overtime be paid to non-exempt employees who work more than 40 hours during the workweek.

Unfortunately, there is no federal limit on the hours a salaried employee can be forced to work each week. Salaried employees are exempt employees, which means they do not collect overtime for working more than 40 hours in a workweek. Exempt employees perform specific executive, administrative, or professional duties.
